Her Eyes

I was thinking about my post for this week and realized in all my excitment about new contracts and other goings on in my life I hadn't said much, if anything about the books I have out. Her Eyes is the book that led me to His Eyes which will be out with Bookstrand later this year. It also has a special place on my writer's shelf. When Jennifer Cloud and I heard about the first face transplant surgery, the woman in France, we talked about it, both of us seeing it from not just an author's perspective but in each others. She writes horror/thriller and I write mostly sweet romance although I've been known to go a bit spicey. I told her it sounded like the start of one of her fantastic horror stories where the person who donated the face had issues and wrecked havoc on the new person's body. Her response was it sounded more like one of my sweet romances where you get the chance to come back and do it right. Her Eyes evolved from there.

Catherine White tries to murder her husband and his dog save his life by attacking her. She ends up with a face transplant and before long Frank begins to see changes in his wife. Catherine is kinder, gentler, most affectionate in bed. A neighbor suggests that perhaps there is a walk in and Frank begins an oddessy of finding out just who is wife is. Before he can though, Catherine makes another attempt on Frank's life.

That brings Detective Mike Malone on the scene and Mike has his own story in His Eyes.
In Her Eyes, based on the adage that the eyes are the window to the soul, we ask the question, when you look into her eyes, what do you see?
