The Spell - my cover and edits

After a grueling round of first edits and some re-writing that I feel pretty good about, I heard from my publisher, Siren-Bookstrand that The Spell is with a line editor and should be coming back my way. It's always a boost when I feel that something doesn't quite fit but I can't quite put my finger on it and an editor succintly gets it. I cut almost 10,000 words from the story and feel it is much tighter.

Meanwhile, Skylar Sinclair has given me yet another brilliant cover. NOW we can see just what Ryan Michaels looks like!

The Glass Cage, Book 2 of the McKenna Crime Series

A few days ago, right after I signed my contract for The Spell with Siren, I finished book 2 of this series, The Glass Cage and right now it is with a Beta reader. I got to admit, when I wrote the scene with the occupied stolen vehicle I found myself holding my breath, just like I used to on a code 3 run!

The Spell has a home!

Sitting at my desk Monday morning, immersed in editing a brief, my phone rang...my cell phone that is. Coming out of my immersion in the brief I wasn't quite sure I heard it right the first time -- Siren-Bookstrand wanted to contract both The Spell and His Eyes! I bounced in my chair doing my own odd-ball happy dance! It totally made my month!

The Spell will be released in October with Siren and His Eyes in November with Bookstrand. It's going to be a fun summer!
